Day 8 – An Alien Reprieve

Heading further south east, we hopped on Interstate 40 at Gallup, New Mxico. Although much faster driving, we prefer smaller roadways. The freeway passes through the center of Albuquerque with a graceful tangle of ramps and overpasses. These were painted a soft pink hue with a turquoise border along their top edge.

Travel through the city went smoothly, however, as we headed up the pass the traffic came to a halt. The combination of road construction and a car accident had us either sitting stationary or in a slow crawl all the way over the pass! Nothing like being trapped on a freeway.

Gratefully, our Harvest Host for the night was Sierra Blanco Brewing in Moriarity, NM. With well over 25 of their brews on tap, we had quite a choice. Although small, they were packed, but their beer garden allowed everyone to spread out. A couple of flights later, we found that our two favorites were the pecan amber and the whiskey barrel stout.

Cheers!
