Day 3 – Where’d Those Come From?

Hmmm, our memories of the drive from Idaho down through Utah did not include ginormous snow-covered mountains! Of course, we haven’t driven through there in late March. Now that I think of it, mid summer (when I went through here 45 years ago) would likely look much different.

Don’t get us wrong, the mountains are beautiful with the snow line that feathers down onto the dark blue green forest. However, we weren’t sure whether or not we would be driving up through that snow. Although, we carry chains and all the safety gear, it was definitely not what we expected on our jaunt southward.

What? Now the nav system is popping up with “A Winter Storm Warning appears to be in your direction of travel”. After much checking on other weather forecast sites and the Utah DOT cameras, it didn’t look like our day would end up with much more than rain showers.

Now that we are settled into our camp on Miner's Lake outside of Beaver, Utah, the camper is warm, the jacks are down, and rain is pattering on the roof. We will see what the morrow brings.
