Day 20 – Christmas in July

If you are someone who loves Christmas any time of year, North Pole, Alaska, is for you. It is just a few miles south of Fairbanks, Alaska. Yes, they do Christmas every day of the year.

You can find beautiful trees decorated in almost any theme you can imagine. Some of my favorites were the woodland creatures, the tree with First Nations designs, and the tree with bronze, silver, and copper figurines.

You could find household decorations like lighting, placemats, and table runners with many holiday themes. Or, maybe you want to send a letter to a little one from Santa. The mailbox will send the letters to the local post office so the post mark will be North Pole.

Even the local Safeway store was decked out with Christmas décor. They had Christmas coffee and other Christmas themed grocery items.

When I was 9, my parents and I stopped here. However, at that time all I remember was the main section of the store. Little did I know that it would continue to expand to a point where a whole community developed around the original Santa’s Workshop.

Merry Christmas!
